Fragrances to attract men

Fragrances to attract men. Wouldn't it be lovely if you could simply put a dash of perfume on yourself and men will be held spellbound by you? You can be Pied Piper of Hamelin with men following you wherever you go.
Well, let me tell you what fragrance attracts men and get the desired attention you crave. You will no longer be the ugly duckling. All the men will want to chat with you and want your companionship. You will be the limelight of the party or wherever you go.

1. Cinnamon

Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka and South India. Men simply love this scent. Cinnamon is considered to be a aphrodisiac. It is similar to our own sexual secretion or pheromones. I read that just a drop of Cinnamon oil rubbed onto your genitals produces powerful sex stimulation. Not sure how safe that is though as you should never ever put any pure essential oil there. It would be far safer to put a few drops of cinnamon oil in the bath instead and soak in its fragrance.

Research studies from the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago found that men were attracted by the scent of cinnamon in the presence of aroma of baked food. Cinnamon has been used since biblical times as a perfume.

There is an episode in the Parables where the seductress lured her prey to a bed filled with Cinnamon. What accounts for Cinnamon's attractive scent? The distinctive odour comes cinnemaldehyde a yellowish oily liquid which is released when the cinnamon bark is crushed. There are other chemical
components that contribute to cinnamons's complex aroma such as eugenol (clove), cineole (eucalyptus) and linalol (lily of the valley)
2. Vanilla
Vanilla is a very versatile plant. It can be drunk , eaten and smelled. It is an aphrodisiac. It has a sensual aroma that reminds one of fresh food in the kitchen.It's an ingredient in sultry, exotic, and mysterious Oriental fragrances. As early as 1762 Bezaar Zimmermann wrote that "No fewer than 342 impotent men, by drinking vanilla decoctions, had changed into astonishing lovers of at least as many women." Currently, vanilla is popular as a fragrance from body care, candles to air freshener.

Neurologist Alan Hirsch of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago conducted a test to understand the impact of smell upon sexual arousal. He discovered the smell which arouses mature men the most was vanilla smell.

3. Lavender

The Lavender plant contains 180 constituents. The perfume industry describes its scent as green, hay like sweetness and fruity. Some studies shows that scent of lavender to be the most arousing to men and may be useful against impotence.

Since ancient times, Lavender has been associated with love and romance. Cleopatra used the seductive powers of lavender to seduce Julius Caeser and Mark Anthony. In more recent times lavender is placed under the bed of newlyweds to ensure hot passion.

4. Frankincense
and 5. Myrrh

Frankincense grows as small trees or shrubs which are found in Southern Arabian countries like Yemen and Oman as well as in Northeast Africa ( Somalia). Its resin contain chemicals which is virtually identical to our own sexual secretion.

The aroma from Frankincense stimulates the senses and heighten your senses. It enhances communication between the lovers. It supports your respiratory and digestive system and has skin healing properties too. Frankincense is also used in Chinese medicine to internally stimulate the stomach and promote digestion.

How to choose that perfect party bra

Six Tips - How to choose that perfect party bra. So you have found the perfect dress for party. Now you need the right bra to go with it.

Ok, so you can always go braless, but that wouldn't give you the support you need, would it?

For the party season, you will need a wardrobe of bras to go with your party dresses. Different dress or top styles demand a different type of bra to look best.

#1 Do away with the straps

The first you should get for party wear would be a strapless bra. That bra would go well with your strapless dresses, halter tops, and even your strappy tops. With a strapless bra, you need not worry about your straps showing.

For a better cleavage without padding, go for a strapless bra that fastens in front. This is because a bra that fastens in front pushes your breasts together giving you a better cleavage.

#2 Sheer clothes with nude bras

Next, if you are going to wear a sheer dress, get a bra that is in your skin tone. A nude bra as close to your skin tone as possible A white bra if you are very very fair, a black brown if your skin is very black, a chocolate bra, or a peach bra, whatever is closest to your skin tone, in a simple design that disappears on your skin. These nude bra are practically invisible if they match your skin tone.

#3 Take advantage of the versatility of convertible bras

If you want the support straps offer in your bra under your party dress, get a bra with removable straps. A convertible bra that can be worn with virtually any outfit would be ideal. Not just your party dress. If you wear a dress with a criss cross back, simply adjust the straps of your bra so you get a criss cross bra that gives you the full support you want, while hiding the straps beneath your dress. If you are going to wear a halter top, then adjust the bra accordingly.

#4 Go backless

What do you wear when it comes to a backless dress? You could go braless, and risk sagging. Droopy breasts aren't sexy. You could wear a very clever bra that does not need any support at the back. A backless bra would do the trick.

#5 Boost your cleavage

Finally, if you want to show off extra cleavage in a cleavage revealing dress, that is where you bra comes in really handy. Just wear a push up bra. Alternatively, you could stuff in a sock, tissue paper or even a shoulder pad into your regular bra to get the cleavage you want.

#6 Go Seamless

Prevent the seams of your bra from showing through your tight clothes. Wear seamless bras which don't have seams in the first place.

What does Tech have to do with Women's Rights?

What does Tech have to do with Women's Rights?. "Tech" isn't a four-letter word, but when it comes to "women's issues" it might as well be. Technology has become a male-dominated big business; profits have become the priority over ethics and/or social implications.

Women are missing from the technology design room to the boardroom and this diminishes the value and unique talents women bring to the table. We can no longer accept this as a normal expectation. Marketing tactics by technology manufacturers have only just begun to include women in their advertising.

Today, it is commonly acceptable to send a resume through email, to fill out a graduate school or job application online or to find "Mr. or Mrs. Right" through Match.com. However, when it comes to women's issues technology is traditionally not included as a venue to advocate or mobilize around.

Violence against women has appeared as cyber stalking and/or bullying. The video game "Grand Theft Auto" which gives points for beating a certain class of women to get the user's money back has been a recent "hot" topic. There are many government agencies working to get the "Grand Theft Auto" game off shelves or properly labeled as adult content but there are not that many encouraging educational reform for girls in science, math, technology or gaming. If there were more girls involved in designing games this product may not have gone to the shelf with violence against women packaged in the scoring system of the game.

Women are one of the highest purchasers of video games for their sons but they never check to see if there are games for their daughters. Most are completely unaware that game consoles like the Xbox where designed with no intentions on having options for women or girls.

The gaming industry is not the enemy; games can be excellent tools for learning if used properly. There are increasingly more software games being designed for schools and educational purposes. Socialimpactgames.com focuses on games for public policy, health, wellness, business and social issues. Whether there is a game that promotes anti Bush agendas or ethnic cleansing, women must be involved.

Government officials have introduced a bill to address electronic stalking in Washington DC, although it has included stalking by computers, email, telephones and cell phones it does not include video and audio recordings or the Global Positioning Systems (GPS) that have been used by stalkers to track their victims. There have been recent attempts with the Video Voyeurism Act, but there are important women's issues missing from these valuable attempts at addressing the issue.

Public health and safety has major societal implications. There are E-Government initiatives under the 2002 Act that will impact many women's' lives, however the congressional subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and the Census is no longer in existence. "Egov" is the new lingo for initiatives that include the Department of Justice's plans for information sharing technology that include development and deployment.

This is also where jurors are now analyzing and reviewing investigative data through laptops and other technologies. Funding for video devices are used to catch criminals such as speeding and red light violators, or security cameras in stop lights but funding is not available for initiatives that use interactive videoconferencing technology to build and maintain family bonds between incarcerated mothers and their children or to provide other needed family services.

There are several Bills/Acts in congress that are on the books about health care and information technology. Many are designed to improve efficiency and the quality of health care delivery by streamlining medical records, preventing medication errors, giving online access to information about outbreaks of infectious diseases or simply to help single mothers get their children immunized for school like DC's government did by implementing the internet based immunization registry. Telemedicine has been used to help women by providing prenatal care in rural areas. A recent bill to address digital divide issues in rural areas will affect the continuation of the telemedicine program for those mothers.

The societal impacts of technology are both positive and negative and are traditionally noticeable in areas of non-traditional work, job readiness, and education. Rarely are areas of health, environment, public safety or cyber security considered major concerns for women as it relates to science and technology.

Already, the lack of technological skills is one reason why so many low-income women aren't able to find jobs above entry-level salaries. If this is not addressed, the lack of technological skills will leave a larger underemployed working class since studies have shown that in 2008 there will be over 1.3 million new technology workers and by 2010, 65% of the economy will be based on technology.

Prior to the fourth grade, studies show that girls are as interested in technology more than boys. After that, girls are discouraged by the adults in their lives and are constantly challenged by the boys in their class, which leaves them questioning whether they should even bother with math, science or technology.

Adolescent girls are intensely pressured to be "cute" instead of "smart," which leads to the current conflict for young women interested in math, science or technology. Tech "geeks" are rarely considered cute or attractive. It is also at this time that young girls choose not to go into sports, yet we have the WNBA, women's football, tennis and golf.

Without better awareness and advocacy, women will also be susceptible to losing the gains that science and technology bring and vulnerable to the dangers of technological ignorance. We'll continue to be unprepared to advocate for or against the decisions made in business and government laws or regulations. Women and girls must be equally educated, encouraged, and provided opportunities in science and technology. If they aren't, the women of tomorrow won't be able to adequately function in our technologically changing society.

We need to challenge all women, especially women lead organizations, women philanthropists and area women funding foundations. Let's widen the gender lens to include non traditional women's issues, our futures depend on it.

Five tips on how you can look younger

Five tips on how you can look younger - No botox or surgery required..So many beautiful people seem to be searching for eternal youth. The ability to look unaffected by the passage of time. Wrinkle free faces at 50. The body of a 60 year old that looks like that of a svelte twenty year old. You see that quite often in Hollywood.

First, there was plastic surgery Now there is botox. Where a toxin is injected into your face to paralyze your facial muscles, to erase the lines on your face.

Scary isn't it? Then again, if you were gorgeous in your youth, if your face were your fortune, wouldn't you do everything possible to preserve your youthful appearance for as long as possible.

Time is relentless. You get older every year. Your face and your body will age. But you can age beautifully. If you keep fit, exercise and watch your diet, your body can still be svelte late in life. It would get harder with time, but with enough discipline and effort, you can still keep your figure.

It is harder when it comes to your skin. Sure, there is botox and plastic surgery. An alternative you can turn to when nothing else works. Until then, there are less invasive, needle free means to erase wrinkles, or at very least to appear younger than you really are.

#1 Microdermabrasion

Have you ever tried clinical microdermabrasion. It is like a facial where the doctor blasts tiny crystals onto your face, to smooth your skin. You have to go for a few treatments but it is effective. Lines diminish. Even acne prone skin improves with this treatment. Best of all, the treatment does not burn your skin with acid and you don't look like an escapee from a horror movie during recovery time.

These days, you can even do that at home. There are even do it yourself microdermabrasion kits you can use in the comfort of your own home. Here is where you can find home microdermabrasion kits to smooth away the lines and to clarify your skin.

Other than physically erasing the lines on your face, you can appear younger if you dress, and act younger. An exuberant woman, full of life looks years younger than she actually is. Look at Diane Keaton, born in January 5, 1946 which makes her almost 60 years old. She certainly doesn't look her age. That brings us to the next few tips.

#2 Hairstyle

Rather than stick to a conservative hairstyle, go for a younger, more carefree look. You'll look years younger that way. It can be as simple as a change from a conservative side part to a younger, carefree center part. Or you can visit your hairdresser for a younger makeover.

#3 Fragrance

A young vibe makes you appear younger. A young fragrance makes you seem much younger than you really are. In a study, women who wore pink grapefruit perfumes appeared, on average, 6 years younger than their actual age according to the men who were surveyed.

#4 Lighting

Finally, the lighting you appear in can make you look older or younger than you really are. In harsh bright, unflattering light, you could look years younger. In soft, gentle, flattering light, you look younger. Everyone looks better by candle light. Installing light dimmers on every light in your home allows you to look younger at home.

#5 Makeup

When all else fails, cheat. Use a makeup primer after your moisturizer to fill in all the lines on your face. Then apply makeup in a color that matches your skin tone exactly, over the primer for that flawless look. You might want to mix 2 makeup colors together for that ideal shade.

Ten Questions About Pregnancy You Might Not Want To Ask Your Doctor

Q1. Can I get pregnant following oral sex or heavy petting?

No. You can only get pregnant from full sexual intercourse.

Q2. How will I know if I am pregnant?

If you have had sexual intercourse since your last period and you are late for your current period, you may be pregnant. Following implantation of the fertilised egg menstruation should not occur, hence for women who have been sexually active and who have previously menstruated regularly, the absence of a period should be put down to pregnancy.

The most common way to confirm a pregnancy is to purchase and undertake a home test. These are relatively cheap and can be done in the privacy of your home. The manufacturers claim they are over 95% accurate.

If the home test has a positive result, you should make an appointment to see your doctor.

Q3. Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy?

For most couples it is normal for them to enjoy an active sex life throughout the pregnancy. Sexual intercourse will not harm the development of your baby as it is cushioned by a bag of fluid in your uterus.

Sex during your pregnancy may also help you both unwind and should help you maintain a strong bond with your partner, ready for the months ahead.

Q4. Does vaginal discharge increases during this time?

Yes, unfortunately it does. Vaginal discharge may well increase during all stages of your pregnancy and should be similar to the discharge you have previously had before a period. It is only if the discharge becomes very thick, smelly or blood stained that you need to seek medical assistance. If the cause is an infection, it can be easily treated with creams or tablets.

Q5. Will I get piles/haemorrhoids?

You may. Although people laugh and joke about piles, they are no laughing matter.

During pregnancy the walls and veins in your anus swell and blood flow becomes sluggish, causing the affected veins to throb and become painful.

There are precautions you can take to help reduce the chances of developing piles, such as:

  • Eat a high fibre diet and drink lots of fluid to avoid constipation.
  • Try to relax on the toilet and not strain.
  • Undertake regular exercise and pelvic floor exercises to help blood flow around your anus.
If you do get piles, your doctor, midwife or pharmacist will be able to suggest a suitable cream to ease the pain.

Q6. What is the best contraception to use after birth?

This will depend on how soon you wish to have another baby. If you want another baby soon (within one year), then short-term measures such as the cap or condom, ideally with the use of a spermicide, are probably the best contraception.

Long term, methods such as contraceptive injection, hormone implant and 'the pill' may be your best options.

Q7. How soon can I have sex after birth?

It is advisable to wait a few weeks after a normal delivery, and up to three months after a caesarean, as healing may take this length of time. It is important however that both you and your partner agree: neither should feel pressured into it.

Be aware that you may feel dry; though by using water-based lubricants there is no reason why sex should not be as enjoyable as before.

Q8. How will the midwife measure cervical dilation?

The midwife will measure how dilated (or open) the cervix is by gently inserting two fingers into the vagina. She assesses how open the cervix is by opening her fingers and feeling around its perimeter. She will also be feeling the position of the cervix and how soft it is.

She will always try to be gentle but sometimes the process can be slightly uncomfortable. Try to stay as relaxed as possible: the tenser you are, the more uncomfortable the procedure will be. Hold your partner's hand while the midwife examines you and ask him to try and distract you.

Q9. How will the hospital staff break my waters if they need to?

The midwife will discuss with you why you might need your waters breaking. Remember though, if you are not comfortable with this you can decline. If you fully understand the need to have your waters broken, and are happy to go ahead, the midwife or doctor will perform a normal vaginal examination then insert a long thin plastic hook that is a little bit like a crochet hook. The hook will be brushed over the bag of waters, which will usually be enough pressure to break it. The cervix does, however, have to be sufficiently open for this to be carried out.

Q10. If I have an episiotomy or perineal tear, how will it be repaired?

It is not always the case that your perineum (the area between the vaginal entrance and the rectum) will tear or need to be cut. Moreover, if it is, there is no way of knowing if you will require stitches. Some studies have shown that perineal massage can help prevent trauma. Your midwife will be able to advise you on this. Sometimes if a small tear has been sustained, it will be left to heal naturally.

If the area does require stitches, the midwife who has been looking after you will usually do it. You will be given local anaesthetic to numb the area before the midwife starts and she will check that you are unable to feel any pain before commencing. These days, stitches are almost always dissolvable and will not need to be removed.

Truth Behind A Pregnant Woman's Food Craving and How to Control It

Truth Behind A Pregnant Woman's Food Craving and How to Control It. Cravings are feelings desiring food combinations which women either do not normally eat or may even stomach under usual eating conditions. In a survey conducted recently, expectant mothers usually crave for "something sweet" like an ice cream (40%), most often called the "middle-of-the-night" urges. Coming in second is the salty snacks (33%). They also go for spicy foods (17%) and lastly, the lip-puckering sour foods like tarts and citrus fruits (10%).

While no scientific explanations could be given, some reasons offered by physicians include:

  • strong hormonal changes;
  • deficiency of nutrients;
  • a conscious or subconscious response to emotion;
  • food with special meaning, religion and cultural reasons;
  • maybe nutritionally based; and,
  • expectations about getting cravings.
On the other hand, food aversion is the opposite of cravings. These are the most hated foods by the expectant mother. Reports state that red meat is the most common aversion of would be mothers.

Expectant mothers need all the nutrients in the right amount to stay healthy and to help their babies develop and grow normally. Cravings may help would-be moms achieve this by desiring nutritious food over those with excessive calories which they sometimes fill their bodies with. Most pregnant women also have a strong yearning for chocolates that stimulates the release of "feel good" brain chemicals in the body. This sometimes helps pregnant women to feel better and manage their moods even for only a short period of time.

Most popular cravings are: apples, melon, cheese, eggs, milk, olives and pickles, peanut butter and nuts

Experts break down the food cravings of women into trimesters during the pregnancy:

First Trimester a strong bitter taste; this may be a signal of the body that warns the expectant mother of the presence of high toxic substances in plants and fruits.

Second and Third Trimesters a craving for sour tasting foods like pickles (this helps women to get a varied diet later on in her pregnancy); urges for sweet and sour foods make fruits a popular craving for pregnant women.

As the pregnancy progresses an increased preference for salty foods like potato chips; as the blood volume increases in the body of a pregnant woman her need for sodium also intensifies.

Other Cravings

Unusual cravings are called the "pica" phenomenon. These are cravings for inedible substances such as dirt, chalk, laundry powder and coal, etc. Pica is the Latin name for Magpie, a bird that eats almost anything.

Pica is said to be a sign of an underlying physical or mental illness. If you develop a craving like this, resist it and award yourself with an ice cream, a bar of chocolate or a piece of cake. Remind yourself that the craving will pass and not to stress yourself about it. You shall not give in because this would mean mental problems for the child, impaired hearing and low motor skills development.

Healthier Options

During pregnancy, there's no harm in giving in to food urges but, just don't make it a habit that will endanger you and your child.

Here are some healthy fixes that you can substitute your sinful cravings with:

Ice cream opt for a nice cold fruit smoothie, non-fat frozen yogurt, sherbet/sorbet or popsicle;

Cola/Soda flavored seltzer, mineral water with fruit juice or lime juice;

Doughnuts and pastries whole-grain bagels or toasted bread with jam;

Potato chips low-fat or baked chips, pretzels or light microwave popcorn;

Chocolate have a few squares only, chocolate milk, fat-free hot cocoa or make some trial mix with a small handful of chocolate chips, dried fruits and nuts; and,

Cakes and cookies low-fat banana-nut or zucchini bread or try an Angel food cake topped with fresh strawberries, Graham crackers with a little peanut butter.

Suggestions to control your cravings:

Cravings lose their intensity while the pregnancy progresses. But here are some ways to help you manage your food yearnings:

  • Eat breakfast everyday to lessen the intensity of your cravings.
  • Understand your cravings to help find healthier substitutes for your food urges. Try to take time breaking your cravings down: What are you longing for: something cold, smooth, creamy, and sweet? This will aid you in identifying more nutritional substitutes.
  • Keep a food diary and review whether you're eating a balanced diet or not.
  • Work out to help you curb hunger.
  • Have lots of emotional support from loved ones.
  • Think small in terms of the amount of intake.
  • Always consult your doctor.
While pregnant, keep in mind that this is no time for dieting but a time to experiment with foods and make eating fun as it should be. Have assortment in your foods, balance your diet well, and make eating fun, not weird.
